Client:
The Ecological Landscape Alliance (ELA) is a nonprofit devoted to promoting biodiversity and sustainable land-care. They bring together ecologists, designers, gardeners, educators, and professionals to advance science-based ecological practices and stewardship.
Challenge:
ELA needed a refreshed brand identity that could reflect its role as both a scientific authority and a welcoming, community-driven hub. They also needed digital and print assets to support education, advocacy, and membership growth while conveying their mission of ecological responsibility.

Our Role:
We developed a comprehensive rebrand for the Ecological Landscape Alliance. Our goal was to modernize their presence while preserving the organization’s depth and credibility.
Approach:
We grounded the design in ELA’s mission to unite science, design, and stewardship by combining organic forms and natural textures with clean, modern structure. The approach emphasized accessibility and warmth without sacrificing the authority that defines their work.
Creative Direction:
Our new visual language pairs refined typography and an earth-inspired palette with custom illustration and pattern inspired by native ecosystems.
outcome:
The final identity and assets gave ELA a cohesive, elevated presence that reflects their leadership in ecological education. The refreshed brand communicates trust, connection, and forward momentum, positioning ELA to expand its reach and impact.

"They went above and beyond in designing our brand identity"
The entire design team at Awen & Co were fantastic to work with. They took time to learn about us and our company and did a lot of research behind the scenes to understand our industry and particular needs. They went above and beyond in designing our brand identity including our logo, brandmark, supporting graphics and an awesome pattern. They even came out to our space to paint a mural for us. Even more than that, we feel like we have gained some new friends! Highly recommend!
